Luke 16:20-21 “But there was a
certain beggar named Lazarus, full of sores, who was laid at his gate, desiring
to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man’s table. Moreover, the
dogs came and licked his sores.”
To run missions and charitable homes requires a lot of finance, so God
laid Lazarus (His beloved and faithful servant or ministries) at the gate of
the rich man’s house, whom God had made a steward of His wealth. God used
Lazarus in such sorrowful, painful, and miserable conditions to stir up the
rich man’s compassion so that God can reward him as a faithful steward.
Who are the dogs?
2 Pet 2:12,14, 21-22 But these,
like natural brute beasts made to be caught and destroyed, speak evil of the
things they do not understand , and will utterly perish in their own
corruption.... having eyes full of adultery and that cannot cease from sin,
enticing unstable souls. They have a heart trained in covetous practices, and
are accursed children... For it would have been better for them not to have
known the way of righteousness, than having known it, to turn from the
holy commandment delivered to them. But
it has happened to them according to the true proverb: “A dog returns to his
own vomit,” and, “a sow, having washed, to her wallowing in the mire.”
The dog is a fallen Christian (just as the fallen angels), who had gone
back to his old ways. These dogs know the word of God but not the truth. They
are carnal and have become liars, hypocrites and are ‘wolves in sheepskins’.
Rev 22:15 But outside are dogs
and sorcerers and sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and whoever
loves and practices a lie.
moreover, the dogs came and
licked his sores
Jude 1:16 These are grumblers,
complainers, walking according to their own lusts; and they mouth great
swelling words, flattering people to gain advantage.
These dogs will cause Lazarus to suffer more by their persecutions with
lies, false accusations and condemnations thus preventing financial help from
the rich man.
Mat 23:13 “But woe to you,
scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you shut up the kingdom of heaven
against men; for you neither go in yourselves, nor do you allow those who are
entering to go in.”
A dog returns to his own vomit
Today, these depraved pastors and
church leaders are once again covetous and worldly and they make all types of
plans (some appearing spiritual) to enrich themselves. They hoard up God’s
money (tithes, love offerings, etc.) by laying treasures on earth in fix
deposits, stocks, properties, etc. They have robbed God of His money by
building their own empires. They prevent the church from giving to His various
ministries, through lies, revelries, false testimonies and accusations. They
have caused the rich men to look at Lazarus (God’s faithful servant and beloved
of God representing His various ministries such as missions, charity,
charitable homes, etc.), whom God had sent to bless them, to be a beggar and
waiting to rob them of their money.
Phil 3:1-2 Finally, my brethren,
rejoice in the Lord. For me to write the same things to you is not tedious, but
for you it is safe. Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the
mutilation!
Brethren, for
your own salvation, beware of these hypocrites, wicked servants, Antichrists,
wolves in sheep’s skin, false teachers, etc. (dogs) for they will surely lead
you into damnation.
