Are We Living In The Last Days (LG01)

Mat 24:32-35  “Now learn this parable from the fig tree: When its branch has already become tender and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is near. So you also, when you see all these things, know that it is near- at the doors! Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all these things take place. Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.

In order to understand this parable, we must first understand the parables of the fig tree.

What are parables?

Mat 13:10-1  And the disciples came and said to Him, “Why do You speak to them in parables?” He answered and said to them, “Because it has been given to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been given."

Mat 13:34-35  All these things Jesus spoke to the multitude in parables; and without a parable He did not speak to them, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying: “I will open My mouth in parables; I will utter things kept secret from the foundation of the world.”

The secrets of God and the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven are hidden in the parables. Our Lord revealed them to His disciples then, and He will also reveal them to us if we seek.

Jer 29:13  And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart

What are the mysteries hidden in the parables of the fig tree?

Mat 21:19 And seeing a fig tree by the road, He came to it and found nothing on it but leaves, and said to it, “Let no fruit grow on you ever again.” Immediately the fig tree withered away. (Read also Mat 21:20,21; Mark 11:12-14, 20-22 where our Lord told His disciples to have 'Faith in God')

This fig tree was without any fruit but with leaves only.

Joh 15:4  "Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me."

Gal 2:20  I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.

In order to bear much fruit, we must abide in Him i.e. walking by faith (in Jesus) and not by sight.

John 15:2  "Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit."

This is how God deals with His people. We must all bear fruit.

Mat 3:8  "Therefore bear fruits worthy of repentance "

As Christians He will deal with us as individuals, just as He had dealt with Israel as a nation in the OT. Whenever Israel (His people) walked in disobedience, idolatry and abominations, (these are acts of Unbelief in God), God allowed the enemies to conquer them. Finally, God allowed the Babylonians to ransack Jerusalem and left Israel desolate.

When Israel (fig tree) walked in Unbelief (leaves only and without any fruit), God allowed the enemies to conquer them (cut off).

From these scriptures we understand that:-

  • Fig tree represents Israel,
  • Bearing much fruit - Faith in God,
  • Leaves without fruit - Unbelief.

The Last Generation (LG02)

Understanding End Time Signs

Mat 24:32-34  “Now learn this parable from the fig tree: When its branch has already become tender and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is near. So you also, when you see all these things, know that it is near—at the doors! Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all these things take place.

Fig tree - the nation of Israel
Its branch tender - it is still a young nation (rebirth in 1948)

From the parables of the fig tree, we see that our Lord Jesus cursed the fig tree when it only had leaves and without any fruit. Only those who abides (faith) in Him can bear fruit. Thus,

put forth leaves - shows signs of Unbelief.
summer is near - beginning of the last generation for the end time harvest of souls at Rapture.

So when we see Israel, while still a young nation, shows signs of Unbelief in Yahweh or OT, then we know that the last generation has begun.

In 1948, the British gave Israel the wilderness and deserts to form the new nation. Since then the Arabs tried to drive the Israelites into the sea but God gave Israel victories after victories and against great odds. In 1967, God finally gave all the land (including West Bank and Jerusalem) to Israel in the six-day war.

But on 13th Sept 1993, President Clinton pressured President Rabin of Israel to sign the Peace Treaty in the White House. The conditions of the Peace Treaty required Israel

  1. to immediately cede Jericho and Gaza strip to the Palestinians.
  2. to cede the West Bank in stages
  3. to negotiate Jerusalem at a later date.

Jericho was the first (Alpha) place in the Promised land where God handed it to Israel by bringing down the high and strong walls after the trumpets and their shouts. For Israel to give Jericho away is unthinkable. This is outright denying the existence of Yahweh and the OT as God's word. This is great Unbelief, an abomination.

The Gaza Strip was the land of the Philistines (giants) and it was the last (omega) place conquered. God help the lad David with a sling and a smooth pebble to kill the giant Goliath. To give Gaza Strip away is Unbelief - outright denying this miracle, Yahweh, the OT and the existence of Kings David. Strangely enough they still wear the star of David. This is hypocrisy in the highest level.

The above 2 miracles were well known and the greatest since the days of Moses and yet Israel did not believe them.

God gave the Promised land to Israel as their eternal inheritance and *to give away any part of the West Bank is outright Unbelief, disobedience, and an abomination to the Lord*. Jerusalem is the Holy City of the Lord God Almighty and therefore no negotiation at all.

US, EU and all the other Christian nations will have to face God's wrath for pressuring Israel to sign this abominable treaty

Luke 21:29-30  Then He spoke to them a parable: “Look at the fig tree, and all the trees. When they are already budding, you see and know for yourselves that summer is now near."

All members of UN (filled with Unbelief - all trees budding) commended and approved this abominable Peace Treaty. 'Oh Lord, how true and perfect are Your words'

I believe this PLO-Israel Peace Treaty in 1993 fulfilled the great Unbelief of Israel as prophesied in Mat 24:32-34, and started 'the last generation'. If a generation is 30 years (a likely assumption) then Rapture will likely be before 2023, which ends the last generation.

Mysteries In Parables (LG03)

Mat 13:10-11,13  And the disciples came and said to Him, “Why do You speak to them in parables?” He answered and said to them, “Because it has been given to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been given... Therefore I speak to them in parables, because seeing they do not see, and hearing they do not hear, nor do they understand."

It was God's will that all Jesus' disciples must understand truth or the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven hidden in the parables. Until then, our Lord had to explain each parable to them.

Mark 4:33-34  And with many such parables He spoke the word to them as they were able to hear it. But without a parable He did not speak to them. And when they were alone, He explained all things to His disciples.

Mat 21:45  Now when the chief priests and Pharisees heard His parables, they perceived that He was speaking of them. (Mat 21:33-46)

Our Lord Jesus ensured that all hearers understand their sins they were committing, though they may not understand the hidden mysteries. Similarly, whenever we read the bible, and if His words, teachings or parables convict us, thank God that He is leading us into His truth once we repent.

John 6:66-67  From that time many of His disciples went back and walked with Him no more. Then Jesus said to the twelve, “Do you also want to go away?”

Thousands followed Jesus for they saw His many miracles (thousands fed, blind could see, dead resurrected, walking on water, etc.). But when His teachings were difficult to accept, many of His disciples left Him.

John 16:25-27   “These things I have spoken to you in figurative language (teachings, parables, words, etc.); but the time is coming when I will no longer speak to you in figurative language, but I will tell you plainly about the Father. In that day you will ask in My name, and I do not say to you that I shall pray the Father for you; for the Father Himself loves you, because you have loved Me, and have believed that I came forth from God."

Finally, after about 3 years, our Lord found that His disciples loved Him for they had obeyed His words resulting to them understanding the mysteries hidden in His words, teachings and parables.

John 16:29  His disciples said to Him, “See, now You are speaking plainly, and using no figure of speech!

It was music to His ears to hear His disciples saying these words. His subsequence sufferings and crucifixion were pure joy for He had accomplished His most difficult task of transforming His disciples.

Brethren, what great joy it will bring to God, when we too can know the truth by understanding the hidden mysteries of the kingdom of heaven within His words, teachings and parables.
