‘Last Generation’
Luke 17:20-21 Now when He was asked by the Pharisees when
the kingdom of God would come, He answered them and said, “The kingdom of God
does not come with observation; nor will they say, ‘See here!’ or ‘See there!’
For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you.”
The moment we sincerely accept
Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour, our sins are cleansed by His blood and
the Holy Spirit then dwells in us as the seal of redemption. He offers Himself
to be our King, thus establishing the kingdom of God within us. Immediately
after our conversion, we remembered that like little children, we obeyed the
pastor, whom we accepted as the spokesman of God. Burning up our idols, giving
up alcohol, gambling, etc.
We loved to pray and worship Him regularly. We
rejoiced reading the Bible and fellowshipping with brethren. We could not stop
sharing His goodness and always avoided places and situations of temptations.
We had complete faith in Him and never doubted the Bible as the word of God.
That was the evidence of our first love for Him. We can safely say that Jesus
Christ was indeed the King of our lives.
Rev 2:4-5 Nevertheless I have this against you (Ephesian
church), that you have left your first love. Remember therefore from where you
have fallen; repent and do the first works, or else I will come to you quickly
and remove your lampstand from its place—unless you repent.
Have we become
like the Ephesian church where we have lost our first love for Him by doubting
Him and the word of God?
Gal 4:14-16 And my trial which was in my flesh you did
not despise or reject, but you received me as an angel of God, even as Christ
Jesus. What then was the blessing you enjoyed? For I bear you witness that, if
possible, you would have plucked out your own eyes and given them to me. Have I
therefore become your enemy because I tell you the truth?
Has the Devil been
successful through false teachers using heresies, the corruption of this world
and fear to deceive us into doubting His word and making us reject the truth?
Our Saviour Jesus Christ, Who is the Almighty God and also
our loving Father, offers Himself to become our righteous King. It is plain
stupidity to reject this precious offer of His.
When we love Him and put our complete faith in Him by
obeying His word fully, then He will establish His Kingdom within us and once
again we are King’s kids. Then He will always abide in us and will never leave
us (John 14:16-17; 15:4-8), and will manifest Himself to us (John 14:22).
Rom 8:15-16 For you did not receive the spirit of bondage
again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out,
“Abba, Father.” The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are
children of God,
Whenever we are in
trials, pains, sufferings, crisis, worries, sorrows, His peace will fill our
hearts to comfort us, His joy will be our strength to overcome this world and
the temptations therein, and His love will enable us to carry our cross
willingly for He is our loving Father.
Pro 3:5-7 Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean
not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct
your paths. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD and depart from
evil.
Let’s surrender our
lives to Him by TRUSTING Him and OBEYING His word, teachings, commandments, for
there is no other way, then Jesus Christ, indeed, will become our King, once we
have this child-like faith in Him again.
