‘Last Generation’
2 Pet 3:3-5 knowing this first: that scoffers will
come in the last days, walking according to their own lusts, and
saying, “Where is the promise of His coming? For since the fathers fell asleep,
all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation.” For this they
wilfully forget: that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth
standing out of water and in the water,
Scoffers in the last days
These worldly and covetous Christians have been frolicking
in their lusts for this world that endtime prophecies hurt their consciences. Some,
especially the rich and powerful will scoff at endtime teachers because they
had been hurt for being cheated into parting with their wealth out of fear of
the impending rapture.
They were misled by false prophecies and false alarms during
these few decades.
1. Y2K or Year 2000 was the year when most Christians
believed the possibility of rapture. Unlearned and misled Christians gave generously
to charity and missions with some selling all they had.
2. false prophecies – at every single tragedy caused
by great earthquake, huge tsunami, volcanic eruption, hurricane or deadly
disease, all those false prophets and endtime teachers would prophesy that
rapture was imminent.
3. snare of the world
Luke 21:39-40 “But take heed to yourselves, lest your
hearts be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness, and cares of this life, and
that Day come on you unexpectedly. For it will come as a snare on all those who
dwell on the face of the whole earth.”
These rich and
powerful Christians love this world and are trapped by the pleasures therein and
these too are also endtime mockers.
Mockers in the last days
Jude 1:14-19 But you, beloved, remember the words which
were spoken before by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ: how they told you
that there would be mockers in the last time who would walk according to
their own ungodly lusts. These are sensual persons, who cause divisions, not
having the Spirit.
Brethren, God had
spent much of His time (20% of NT) in endtime prophecies, yet we dare to ignore
all His warnings and teachings. Repent of your ignorance in endtime prophecies
and worldliness. Start reading the Bible and keep His words and God will reveal
to you the truth of endtime mysteries so that you will be able to overcome the
deceptions of the Antichrist.
Eph 2:1-6 And you He made alive, who were dead in
trespasses and sins, in which you once walked according to the course of this
world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now
works in the sons of disobedience, among whom also we all once conducted
ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of
the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others. But God,
who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even
when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace
you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in
the heavenly places in Christ Jesus.
Brethren, to avoid
His wrath, we must no longer live according to the pleasures of this world nor
as sons of disobedience. By keeping His words, we will be able to crucify our
flesh and be led by the Spirit of God.
Gal 5.17 For the
flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are
contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish.
