‘Last Generation’
Luke 3:7-9 Then he said to the multitudes that came out
to be baptized by him, “Brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the wrath
to come? Therefore, bear fruits worthy of repentance, and do not begin to say
to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father.’ For I say to you that God is
able to raise up children to Abraham from these stones. And even now the ax is
laid to the root of the trees. Therefore, every tree which does not bear good fruit
is cut down and thrown into the fire.”
For the first
Advent of our Lord Jesus, John the Baptist was sent to prepare the way for people
to repent because unrighteousness was rampant. Will we have the same problems
with His second Advent?
Perilous time in the last days
2 Pet 2:3-4 knowing this first: that scoffers will come
in the last days, walking according to their own lusts, and saying, “Where is
the promise of His coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things
continue as they were from the beginning of creation.”
Before His second
Advent scoffers, carnal scoffers, reject the word of God due to unbelief. They
are pleasuring themselves here that they do not want Jesus to come. They
distort the word of God with heresies and accept only blessings, prosperity and
divine health while ignoring obedience, refinement and holiness.
2 Tim 3:1-5 But know this, that in the last days perilous
times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money,
boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of
good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of
God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people
turn away!
1. Lover of oneself – Care only for one’s welfare,
success, pleasure and happiness.
2. Lover of money – One who find excuses to avoid
helping the poor, the destitute, His ministries and charities.
3. Blasphemer – One who uses His name or the Holy
Spirit to lie, to prophesy and to deceive for personal gain.
4. Despiser of good – One who runs down godly and
biblical Christians to justify one’s greed, position or heresy.
1 Cor 11:31 For if we would judge ourselves, we should
not be judged.
So, let us come
before the Lord and judge ourselves against all those endtime sins with the
pure word of God so that we can repent from our heresies, distorted truth and
abominable practices. Let us also flee from all hypocrisies, greed, wickedness,
carnality, worldliness, lying, jealousy, unforgiveness, hatred... (Rom 1:24-32)
Luke 2:10-11 So the people asked him, saying, “What shall
we do then?” He answered and said to them, “He who has two tunics, let him give
to him who has none; and he who has food, let him do likewise.”
Hurricane Harvey's
devastation of Houston, Texas and Hurricane Irma's destruction of the
Caribbeans and South Florida are just preludes of a little of the horror of
WW3. Millions would have died of starvation without any rescue and relief
within 3 months. Coming WW3 will wipe out everything leaving all mankind in
great despair. No help from anyone for everyone is affected. However, our Lord
will empower faithful Christians to manifest His love, powers, healings and
provision during this period of great distress. Brethren, if you are still not
generous to the poor, the destitute, the needy and His many ministries, then He
will judge you as goats in Mat 25:31-46 and you may not get His help and
provision.
