‘Last Generation’
Rev 3:18b I counsel you to buy from Me gold
refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that you
may be clothed, that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed;”
Rev 7:9 After these things I looked, and behold, a great
multitude which no one could number, of all nations, tribes, peoples, and
tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed with white
robes, with palm branches in their hands,
All those who can
come before the throne of God in heaven are all clothed in white robes.
Rev 3:3-5a “Remember therefore how you have received and
heard; hold fast and repent. Therefore, if you will not watch, I will come upon
you as a thief, and you will not know what hour I will come upon you. You have
a few names even in Sardis who have not defiled their garments; and they shall
walk with Me in white, for they are worthy. He who overcomes shall be clothed
in white garments,”
1. We have to ensure that we hold fast to the truth in the
word of God for heresies and sins will defile our garments.
2. We must be watchful and stay faithful to His word, so
that when He calls us home or appears at rapture, His coming will not catch us
unaware as a ‘thief in the night’.
And only then, we will be worthy to be clothed in white
robes.
John 8:31-32 Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed
Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know
the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
To know the truth, we have to abide in His word like giving
to the poor and needy – obtaining the truth.
Col 3:1, 5-6 If then you were raised with Christ, seek
those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand
of God. Therefore, put to death your members which are on the earth:
fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is
idolatry. Because of these things the wrath of God is coming upon the sons of
disobedience,
Other ways of being clothed in white robes:
1. Overcomer in
Sardis church
Rev 3:4-5 “You have a few names even in Sardis who have
not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with Me in white, for they are
worthy. He who overcomes shall be clothed in white garments, and I will not
blot out his name from the Book of Life; but I will confess his name before My
Father and before His angels.”
2. To be a martyr for
His word
Rev 6:9,11a When He opened the fifth seal, I saw under
the altar the souls of those who had been slain for the word of God and for the
testimony which they held.... Then a white robe was given to each of them;
3. Overcome the Great
Tribulation
Rev 7:13-14 Then one of the elders answered, saying to
me, “Who are these arrayed in white robes, and where did they come from?” And I
said to him, “Sir, you know.” So he said to me, “These are the ones who come
out of the great tribulation, and washed their robes and made them white in the
blood of the Lamb.
4. All those who
follow Jesus
Rev 19:11-14 Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white
horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness
He judges and makes war. His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were
many crowns. He had a name written that no one knew except Himself. He was
clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God.
And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, followed Him
on white horses.
