‘Last Generation’
1 Sam 2:8 He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the
beggar from the ash heap, to set them among princes and make them inherit the
throne of glory. “For the pillars of the earth are the Lord’s, and He has
set the world upon
them.”
God makes the
beggars and poor in this world to inherit the throne of glory, for they are
rich in faith to love Him by fully trusting and obeying Him.
James 2:5 Listen, my beloved brethren: Has God not
chosen the poor of this world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom which
He promised to those who love Him?
Our Lord Jesus was Poor
2 Cor 8:9 For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus
Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that you
through His poverty might become rich.
Our Lord gave up
His Kingship in heaven to become a servant. He was born not in a house but the
humblest amongst the animals in the stable. He grew up as a carpenter, as a
simple folk. The Jewish Priesthood rejected Him as the One sent by God even
with His numerous signs and wonders performed out of compassion for the
affected. Instead, they condemned Him as Satanic and a false teacher. He
entered Jerusalem on a mule which was an animal for women, children, and goods instead
of a horse used by the rich and powerful. His unpresuming entry signified great
humility. He could not support Himself and His disciples but depended on women
folks to supply their needs.
Luke 8:2-3 and certain women who had been healed of evil spirits
and infirmities – Mary called Magdalene, out of whom had come seven demons, and
Joanna the wife of Chuza, Herod’s steward, and Susanna, and many others who
provided for Him from their substance.
His Disciples also gave up All
Mat 19:27-28 Then Peter answered and said to Him, “See, we
have left all and followed You. Therefore, what shall we have?” So Jesus
said to them, “Assuredly I say to you, that in the regeneration, when the Son
of Man sits on the throne of His glory, you who have followed Me will also
sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.”
When His
disciples gave up everything to follow Him in complete faith and trust, and ‘walk
by faith’ in His provisions, then the highest possible heavenly rewards were
given to them.
That’s why our
Lord told the rich man to sell all and give to the poor for it is very hard for
a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.
Mark 10:21, 23 Then Jesus, looking at him, loved him, and
said to him, “One thing you lack: Go your way, sell whatever you have and give
to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, take up the cross,
and follow Me”... Then Jesus looked around and said to His disciples, “How
hard it is for those who have riches to enter the kingdom of God.”
Blessings by the Poor
Luke 14:13-14 “But when you give a feast, invite the
poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind. And you will be blessed, because they
cannot repay you; for you shall be repaid at the resurrection of the just.”
Concerning the
poor, we need to change our mindset that they are not beggars but are sent by
the Lord to be our blessings. Feast with them as benefactors and friends as
though we are feasting with the rich, powerful and kings.
Brethren, WW3 is just around the corner, let the poor be your
blessings.
