Mat 25:1-5 “Then the kingdom of heaven shall be likened to ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. Now five of them were wise, and five were foolish. Those who were foolish took their lamps and took no oil with them, but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. But while the bridegroom was delayed, they all slumbered and slept.”
A virgin (the godly) is one who prepares herself to be the bride of the Lamb by obeying and serving Him faithfully according to His commands, words, teachings and will.
2 Cor 11:2 For I am jealous for you with godly jealousy. For I have betrothed you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.
2 Tim 4:8 Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing.
These 10 virgins love the Lord with all their hearts. They love His appearing because they want to be with Him as soon as possible. So all these virgins desire, hope and believe that Jesus will be back in Y2K.
But while the bridegroom was delayed, they all slumbered and slept.”
After Y2K, no one dared to preach endtime prophecies anymore. They slumbered and slept for they were ignorant of endtimes, except for the few who knew that the fourth Seal (WW3) must come before rapture.
Those who were foolish took their lamps and took no oil with them, but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.
Oil is used for anointing and it represents the Holy Spirit. The five foolish virgins loved the Lord and will try to obey His words. They are prepared to give up all and serve the Lord faithfully with the gifts of the Holy Spirit in churches, missions and charitable homes. These are godly servants of God but serving in their own comfort zones.
Gal 5:16-17 I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish.
The wise virgins will keep His words and do His will no matter where, why and what it is. So, they are led by the Spirit of God into the baptism of the Holy Spirit and fire. When we walk in the Spirit (extra oil) we will do the things that we do not naturally desire, like, nor want (flesh).
John 13:14-15 “If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet. For I have given you an example, that you should do as I have done to you.”
The wise virgins wash one another’s feet by bearing each other’s problems and serving:
1. In charitable homes – washing excretion of children and aged; caring, feeding and loving the sickly, retarded, destitute and aged.
2. In mission field – filthy hard bamboo floor as bed, dirty tapioca and leaves as food, travelling in slippery and dangerous muddy tracks, stranded often with broken down vehicles, chased by angry elephants, blood sucked by leeches, encountered snakes and wild animals, suffered hunger, cold, scorching heat, etc.
Brethren, we should live like Paul, sacrificing like our Lord Jesus who suffered and died for us on the cross, in journeys often, in perils of waters,...in perils in the wilderness,...in perils among false brethren; in weariness and toil, in sleeplessness often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness. (2Cor 11:26-27).
